Izabella Marutyan was born on July 23, 1990, in Yerevan, Armenia. She started playing piano when she was five. From 1996 to 2006, she studied at the Tchaikovsky Specialized Music School with excellent results. She studied under the supervision of Zaruhi Vardanyan.

After graduating from the Tchaikovsky Specialized Music School, Izabella Marutyan entered the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, majoring in piano. Her professor was Sergey Sarajyan. In 2011, she earned a Bachelor of Music degree with excellent results. In 2012, she earned a Master’s degree in piano from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. In 2014, she completed her professional education. From 2012 to the present, Izabella Marutyan has been working at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory as an assistant to Professor Sergey Sarajyan.

From 2015, she has also been working as a piano teacher in a musical school named after Ghazaros Saryan.

Izabella Marutyan is the laureate of several international and republican musical competitions. In 2017, she won the III prize at the Valletta International Piano Competition in Valletta, Malta. In 2015, she was awarded the I prize at the Vienna International Music Competition in Vienna, Austria, and was also the winner of the Richard Wagner International Competition in Vienna, Austria. In 2012, she received the I prize in the Piano Duet category at the Renaissance IV International Contest-Festival of Musician Performers in Yerevan, Armenia. In 2010, she earned the I prize at the Yelena Ter-Ghevondyan Competition of Concertmeisters in Yerevan, Armenia.

In addition to her solo career, Izabella Marutyan collaborates in a distinguished piano duo with renowned pianist Anahit Nersesyan, presenting performances marked by technical mastery, artistic synergy, and interpretative depth.

Izabella Marutyan has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician, and concertmeister in numerous concerts across Austria, France, and Armenia. She has performed at prestigious venues such as the Wiener Musikakademie Concert Hall and the Richard Wagner Konservatorium Hall in Vienna, the Sir Temi Zammit Hall in Valletta, the Armenian Embassy in Austria, and the French Embassy in Armenia. Her performances have also taken place at the Grange aux Dîmes Hall in Wisteram, Normandy, as well as at major concert venues in Armenia, including the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall, the Komitas Chamber Music Hall, the Arno Babajanian Concert Hall, and the Aram Khachaturian House-Museum.

She participated in master classes with Nina Igudesman (Austria), Alexandra Grabovskaya (Austria), Boris Berman (USA), Svetlana Navassardian (USA/Armenia), and Daniella Laval (France).

Izabella Marutyan’s repertoire encompasses a wide spectrum, from Johann Sebastian Bach’s classical masterpieces to contemporary avant-garde compositions.
