The Armenian Pianists Association NGO, founded by its president, pianist Armen-Levon Manaseryan, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of the Armenian piano performing school, which traces its roots back to Franz Liszt and Frédéric Chopin through their distinguished students, Chopin’s student Karol Mikuli and Liszt’s student Stéphan Elmas. Recognizing the need for a comprehensive resource, the association has created a large-scale website-catalogue of Armenian pianists, a project that took several years of meticulous work—gathering information from archives, books, and private sources. All living pianists provide their own biographies, ensuring accuracy and authenticity.
Beyond documentation, the association has developed a dynamic network platform, designed to connect Armenian pianists worldwide. This platform serves as a space for collaboration, career development, and artistic exchange, allowing musicians to engage with one another, share experiences, and participate in joint projects. It provides access to concert opportunities, masterclasses, competitions, and academic resources, helping both emerging and established pianists grow in their careers. The network also facilitates direct communication between pianists, teachers, and institutions, fostering a sense of artistic community and mutual support.
The website is updated weekly, announcing new names, emerging pianists, innovative projects, and exciting opportunities, ensuring continuous support and recognition for Armenian pianists worldwide. Through this initiative, the Armenian Pianists Association not only preserves history but also actively shapes the future of Armenian piano artistry on the international stage.
