Hripsime Aghakaryan

Hripsime Aghakaryan was born in Artik, Armenia.

Music has played a significant role in her life since early childhood. Inspired by her mother, pianist Gayane Yeghoyan, she received her initial professional education in her mother’s class at the D. Ghazaryan Music School in Artik.

After studying there for three years, she continued her education at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Specialized Music School in Yerevan, in the class of the Honored Artist, Professor Rosa Tandilyan, herself a student of the renowned composer and pianist Arno Babajanyan. Hripsime continued her studies with Tandilyan at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, where she also studied in the accompaniment class of Professor Senora Gyulbudaghyan and the chamber ensemble class of Professor Asya Ghazaryan.

During her academic years, she was supported by several foundations, including “New Names,” the “Arno Babajanyan” Foundation, and “YerazArt.” Her repertoire spans works of various styles and eras. She has performed in the USA, Canada, Russia, Georgia, Iran, France, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, the UK, and Norway. She has performed as a soloist with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Armenian State Chamber Orchestra, and the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.

Hripsime performs not only as a soloist but also as an accompanist in piano duos and various chamber ensembles. She is a first-prize winner of numerous competitions, including the Stéphan Elmas Piano Competition, Rachmaninoff Chamber Music Competition, 15th Khachaturian International Piano Competition, Brescia Classica Piano Competition, and the Armenia Piano Competition.

Since 2014, she has also been playing the harpsichord, participating in many concerts with the chamber ensemble of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra within the Tête à Tête program, as well as with the KVArt ensemble and others.

Since 2021, she has been the pianist of the Assonance Ensemble, dedicated to contemporary music, and has performed at various renowned festivals and competitions.

Hripsime regularly conducts masterclasses through the Meknark Talent Development Program, led by Honored Artist of Armenia, pianist and professor Armen Babakhanian. Currently, she teaches at the Ghazaros Saryan Art School, the Tchaikovsky Specialized Music School, and the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan.
