Hasmik Ancharakyan was born on August 8, 1954. She graduated from the Piano Department of the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, studying in the class of the Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR, Eleonora Voskanian. She has performed concerts on various stages throughout the Republic of Armenia and has regularly appeared on Armenian Public Television.

In addition to performing as a soloist, Hasmik Ancharakyan has been actively engaged as an accompanist. For many years, she worked at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan in the class of the People’s Artist of the USSR, Tatevik Sazandaryan. She also worked at the Sayat-Nova Music School, accompanying classes of P. Haykazyan, L. Zoryan, and A. Berberyan, and performed with the school’s renowned choir under the direction of A. Veranyan. She has consistently appeared on the best concert stages of Armenia and the USSR, accompanying the country’s finest soloists and receiving numerous certificates of appreciation.

Hasmik Ancharakyan has numerous awards and recognitions: 1981 – Diploma for Best Accompanist Performance at the 6th Transcaucasian Competition, 1988, 1991 – Diplomas from the Ministry of Culture of the Armenian SSR for outstanding accompanist work, 1991 – Diploma from the International Competition Festival in Gelendzhik for excellence in accompanying.

She has been engaged in pedagogical activities for nearly five decades. She has taught professional piano courses at the Sayat-Nova Music School (since 1977), the Tchaikovsky Specialized Music School (since 1995), and the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan (2000-2003), training generations of pianists who have graced world stages with their artistry.

Hasmik Ancharakyan was also honored for her pedagogical work: 1979-1980, 1983-1984 – Certificates of appreciation from the Ministry of Culture of the Armenian SSR. 1994 – Honorary certificate from the Yerevan Municipality for distinguished service. 2009 – Certificate of appreciation from the Yerevan Municipality for achievements in children’s aesthetic education. 2008-2009 – Certificate of appreciation from the administration of the Sayat-Nova Music School. 2007, 2013 – Certificates of appreciation from the ‘Renaissance’ International Competition Festival in Gyumri for students’ successful participation. 2024 – Title of ‘Best Teacher’ at the Sayat-Nova Music School.

Hasmik Ancharakyan’s students have consistently participated successfully in various national and international competitions and festivals, winning prizes and laureate titles. Notable competitions include the “Babajanyan”, “Spendiarian”, and “Sarajev” National and International competitions, as well as the “Art-Music”, “Renaissance” International Competitions-Festivals, “Taktakishvili” International Competition, and the XVII International Competition in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Italy.

Today, many of Ancharakyan’s students continue their brilliant musical and performance careers on international stages, including musicians such as Lusine Khachatryan, Laura Galstyan, and others.
