Georg Kjurdian

Georg Kjurdian, born in Latvia in 1994, has never been solely devoted to the piano—his musical journey began with the guitar at the age of four and composition at the age of eight. He discovered the piano at ten and has considered it his greatest passion and field of experimentation ever since.

At eighteen, he moved to Germany, where he was deeply influenced by such artists as Hisako Kawamura, Henri Sigfridsson, Arnulf von Arnim, Matti Raekallio, Andreas Reiner, and Evgeni Sinaiski—figures who significantly shaped his pianistic skills and musical worldview.

A prizewinner at international competitions, including the 14th Bach Competition in Leipzig, Georg Kjurdian is an active soloist and chamber musician. He is particularly dedicated to unconventional programming and innovative concert formats that seek to keep classical music relevant and engaging for today’s audiences.

In September 2024, he began a three-year program at the TONALi Stage Academy in Hamburg, where twelve selected young musicians work closely with mentors from various artistic disciplines to explore new paths in music communication.

His debut album was released in early 2023 on the label Challenge Records, featuring works by the “Three Great Bs” – Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. A second album is scheduled for release in early 2026 on the same label, this time focusing on original works and transcriptions by Richard Wagner.
