Astghik Ghukasyan was born in 1998 in the family of musicians. She studied at the Tchaikovsky Special Music School in the class of Professor Shushanik Babayan, and then continued her education at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory with Professor Vagharshak Harutyunyan. At 7 years, she gave her first solo recital. She is a laureate of many competitions, such as the Tbilisi International Contest of Young Pianists (4th prize, 2011), Clavicologne International Piano Competition (3rd prize, 2016), Delphic Games International Competition (3rd prize, 2016), Armenia International Piano Competition (4th prize, 2019), and President’s prize of RA (2020).
She was a member of the «Spivakov» and «New Names» foundations. Within the frame of «New Names», she had numerous concerts in Spain, Russia, France, Switzerland, Malta, Germany, Guatemala, and Mexico.
She participated in MECMA Academy’s masterclasses and concerts in the UAE, where she played Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.20 in D minor, K.466 with the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Conrad van Alphen.
She also had masterclasses with world-renowned pianists, such as Luca Debargue, Vladimir Kholodenko, Alexander Toradze, Jacques Rouvier, Pavel Gililov, Ashley Wass, Dmitry Masleev, and others.
She had concerts with the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, conducted by Vahan Mardirossian. She also played chamber music concerts with Mark Drobinsky, Diana Adamyan, Haig Hovsepian, Sona Arzumanyan, and others.
