Mari Minasyan was born into a family of devoted admirers of music and the arts. Her father, Armen Minasyan, was a renowned surgeon, a professor at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Yerevan State Medical University, a Doctor of Medical Sciences, and an Honored Doctor of the Armenian SSR. Her mother, Aida Boyadjyan, was a well-known painter and a member of the Union of Artists of the Armenian SSR and USSR. In addition to painting, she illustrated numerous books, primarily children’s literature.

Recognizing their daughter’s musical talent, her parents enrolled her in the Tchaikovsky Specialized Music School (a ten-year school), where she studied under a professor from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, Amalia Bayburtyan—a successor to the Sarajyan (Sarajev) and Neuhaus music-pedagogical traditions.

In 1983, after graduating from the school, Mari continued her studies with Amalia Bayburtyan at the piano department of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, from which she graduated with honors in 1988.

From 1990 to 1992, she pursued postgraduate studies in chamber ensemble performance under Professor Levon Mamikonyan at the same conservatory, once again graduating with honors.

Mari has given numerous solo performances and has participated in various concerts and festivals both in Armenia and abroad. She frequently performs in chamber ensembles and accompanies both vocalists and instrumentalists.

She has performed with the Armenian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Honored Conductor Gevork Muradyan.

Many of the students she has accompanied have become laureates and prizewinners at national and international competitions. Mari Minasyan has received commendations and certificates of recognition for her work as an accompanist and educator.

She has worked at various music education institutions. Currently, she serves as an accompanist at both the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and the Faculty of Arts at the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan.

She taught general and specialized piano at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and the State Music College named after Romanos Melikian for many years.

During her student years at the conservatory, she participated in numerous All-Union music conferences, receiving letters of appreciation and diplomas. She has authored several musicological articles published in various print outlets.

In addition to her profession, she is passionate about painting. She has held several solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions. Mari actively collaborates with various music publishing houses.
