Mrs. Vardanyan was born in 1983. She graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory (with a diploma with honors from professor Vagharshak Harutyunyan). The postgraduate studies she continued with distinguished pianists Paul Badura-Skoda and Boris Berman at SIPO Obidos International Piano Master Classes and Festival (2012) and completed the Arts and Heritage Management online course authorized by Bocconi University (2018).

In 2009 Julietta formed a piano-cello Duo ARS LUNGA together with cellist Aram Talalyan ․ From 2013-2016 she was the Executive Director at Talalyan Brothers Festival. In 2018 she provided a series of master classes at the Mongolian State Conservatory for pianists & accompanists (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia). From 2021 she has been a lecturer on chamber music at Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. In 2024 She was a member of a committee at the graduation exams and a member of the jury of the orchestra faculty’s competition of Yerevan State Conservatory. She was also a jury for the “Women’s Musical Month” online competition in Armenia (2020, 2021 and 2024). In 2024 Julietta started a project on a series of new international concerts of 4hands piano music named 1+1 =4.

 

Julietta was awarded the Gold Medal of Moscow Union of Composers for outstanding performance of Modern Music (2011), St. Grigor Narekatsi Medal of Armenian Ministry of Culture for contributing to the promotion of Armenian contemporary Composers works (2013), VivaCell-MTS Gold Medal for Preserving Armenian Academic Music ( for Anthology of Armenian Chamber Music Project (1st part)/2015) and 1st  Prize and Gold Medal of Golden Classical Music Awards International online competition (Performance at Carnegie Hall, New York, USA/2019). Julietta also succeeded as a project manager through a grant initiative from IMAF (International Music and Art Foundation, Lichtenstein/2018) by completing recordings of the “Anthology of Armenian Chamber Music (2nd part)” project and received an award from the European Union in the framework of the EU4Culture project for starting 1+1=4 Music Series project of 4hands piano concert series in 2024.

Julietta has collaborated with the Armenian Opera and Ballet National Symphony Orchestra/ conductor Ruben Asatryan (2019), Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra/ conductor Arman Murzagaliev (2015), SYOA-State Youth Symphony Orchestra of Armenia/ conductors Aram Talalyan, Sergey Smbatyan (2014), Moldova National Chamber Orchestra/ conductor Cristian Florea, Zaporizhzhia Academic Symphony Orchestra/ conductor Aram Talalyan (2013), Narekatsi Chamber Orchestra/ conductors Aram Talalyan, Mikhail Kokzhayev, Jakov Jakoulov (2012), Alexander Khaindrava(2010), “Four seasons” Chamber Orchestra, conductor Vladislav Bulakhov (2011).

Julietta is the first performer of many Armenian and Foreign contemporary Composers’ Music.

She was the first performer of American composers’ music written and dedicated to her: Jakov Jakoulov’s Concerto N.1 for Piano and Chamber Orchestra (2013), Hayg Boyadjian’s “Treize Petits Etudes” for Piano Solo (2014) and Concerto N.1 for Piano and Symphony Orchestra (2016).

She is an active participant of Armenian and International Music Festivals in her capacity of a soloist, chamber musician and the pianist of Ars Lunga Duo, such as: Germany: Stolberg/ Stolberger Musiksommer Festival (2024), Karlsruhe/ German-Armenian concert series (2018), Offenburg/ Shiller Hall (2018), Kiel/ Schlezwig-Holstein Music Festival (2019), USA: New York/ Carnegie Hall, Burbank / Enlightenment Music Series (2019), Belgium: Brussels(2015), Vitrage International Festival of Music and Art (2019), Antwerp/ Minimen International Music Festival (2015), Switzerland: Zurich/ concert organized by HERES Swiss-Armenian Culture Association(2015), Kazakhstan: Almaty/ Forte International Music Festival(2015),  Spain: Mallorca/36th  and 41st Deia International Music Festival(2014, 2019), Netherlands: Utrecht/ recital at Hu HKU- Utrecht Conservatorium (2014), Moldova: Chisinau/ Martisor-2014 International Music Festival, Singapore — South Korea: Seoul- Japan: Tokyo/ 3 concerts organized by Ministry of Culture of Armenia (2013),  Estonia: Tallin/ Estonian-Armenian Cultural Mission (2013), Georgia: Tbilisi/ State Conservatory Recital Hall, Goergian Composers Union Hall (2012, 2013, 2014), Russia: 33rd & 34th Moscow Autumn International Music Festival (2011-12), Iran: Tehran/Aseman Hall (2009), 25th  & 26th Fajr International Music Festival (2010-11), Ararat Society of Arts and Culture (2010), Vahdat Hall (2010))

As a pianist of Duo Ars Lunga with Honored Artist of Armenia cellist Aram Talalyan Julietta has released many recordings, such as the 1st part of Anthology of Armenian Chamber Music* 12CD recording Project, (contained 60 Armenian Composers Music for cello and piano) and 2nd part of Anthology of Armenian Chamber Music 12 CD recording project (combines 41 Armenian Composers Music written for piano trio). Complete works of Komitas arranged for cello and piano. Complete works of R. Schumann for cello and piano. TV Film live recording of Ars Lunga duo’s full 2 concerts included complete works of Tigran Mansurian (2 Sonatas and pieces for cello and piano) and other Armenian composers (Shoghakat TV)/ Yerevan, Armenia. Hooshyar Khayam – ‘’Winter’’ Sonata no.1, ‘’Chang’’ for cello and piano (Hermes Records/Tehran, Iran).

Several well-known composers wrote pieces dedicated to Duo Ars Lunga: Narine Zarifyan Piano Trio, Hayg Boyadjian (USA) Hidden Dances N.3 for piano trio, Artyom Kokzhayev (Russia) ‘’Abduction of Satenik’’, Mikhail Kokzhayev ‘’Double Concerto’’ for cello, piano, and Symphony Orchestra, Arsen Harutyunyan ‘’Theme and 10 variations’’, Jakov Jakoulov (USA) ‘’Narek’’ Suite, Hayg Boyadjian (USA) ‘’Canticle’’N.3, Rebecca Ashooghian (Iran) ‘’Sonata’’, Mikhail Kokzhayev ‘’Variations on a theme by Handel’’, Suren Zakarian ‘’Legend’’, Hooshyar Khayam (Iran)- ‘’Chang’’ for cello and piano.

 

*This project is unprecedented in the history of Armenian Academic Music as it assembled the full anthology of Armenian chamber music of all composers. This is one of the largest projects today in Armenia on the preservation of national musical heritage with a very high benefit-to-cost ratio.

The main purpose of this project is to assemble and record professional-academic chamber music of Armenian composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
