Diana Gabrielyan

Diana was born in Yerevan, Armenia. She began musical studies in her early years. The love for music transferred to Diana from her mother, a violinist, who was Diana’s principal teacher of violin and piano. Profound adoration for music inspired Diana to hold her first public concert at the age of five at the House Museum of Aram Khachaturian. In Yerevan, she studied at the highly competitive and selective Tchaikovsky Music School for Children Prodigies. At the age of nine, she performed her first solo recital in the House Museum of Aram Khachaturian. 

She is a prize-winner in more than 30 prestigious national and international piano competitions in Europe, the United States, and Armenia, 18 of which are First prizes. Among the most important international awards are worthy to mention the Gramsci Prize, the Rovere d’Oro Prize, the Rospigliosi Prize in Italy, and the «Chopin-Hartford” Prize. 

She has been published in more than 30 professional, trade, and major media outlets, with hundreds of additional mentions on informal online platforms. Among these are BBC Music Magazine, Le Figaro, Cronache del Mezzogiorno, Il Terreno, La Nazione, Gramophone, La Provincia, and many others. She holds ongoing roles as jury and judge in the Odradek Records. Moreover, she is a distinguished member of a number of prestigious music organizations requiring outstanding achievement of their members. 

On the occasion of the “Great Jubilee” in 2000, she performed numerous concerts, including one at the historical «Palazzo Ruspoli» in Rome, which was broadcast on Vatican Radio. Since then, until today, many of her recordings have been aired during the «Diapason» program on Vatican Radio. 

In 2005, celebrating both the exhibition of the St. Gregory the Illuminator statue at the Vatican and the 800th anniversary of St. Nicholas of Tolentino, she performed in the Basilica of Saint Nicolas of Tolentino and was awarded an Artist Medal by S. B. Nerses Bedros XIX, Patriarch of the Armenian Catholic Church of Cilicia.  

In April 2014, her 1st CD was released by the Odredek Records Label, with the music of Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Babajanyan, and Mansurian. 

She graduated brilliantly from the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory of Music in Rome, both in Classical Piano and in Chamber Music, and from the prestigious International Piano Academy “Incoltri col Maestro” in Imola, Italy. 

Her repertoire covers a wide range of works from the Baroque era to the contemporary. She performs extensively, participating in various festivals and concert series, performing Solo recitals and with Orchestra in Europe and United States, in prominent theaters and halls such as the Rome Opera House, the Marcellus Theatre, the Aula Magna of the Sapienza University in Rome; the Malibran Theatre in Venice; the Siotto Concert Hall in Cagliari; the Gaber Auditorium in Milan; the Mozart Hall of Philharmonic Academy in Bologna; the Maison de l’Italie, the UNESCO Salle de Cinema, the Citè des Artsin Paris; Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, in New York; Ward Hall and Hartke Teather in Washington DC, etc. 

In 2017, in addition to her artistic activities, she established her own school of music in Rome, named “Musicali Sfumature.”

In 2021, Diana was admitted to the Master of Music program at the Manhattan School of Music, one of the most prestigious and renowned music institutions in the world, under the guidance of world-acclaimed pianist Maestro Alexandre Moutouzkine. In the spring of 2023, she earned her degree from the Manhattan School of Music with excellent grades.  

She was the Co-Artistic Director and one of the artists for the highly successful events “AGBU Performing Artists in Concert,” held at Carnegie Hall in October 2022 and May 2026. She worked as a principal Collaborative Pianist in the Precollege Department of the Manhattan School of Music from January 2022 to December 2023 

Currently, Diana works as a piano Professor at Saint David’s School in Manhattan. Diana established her own «Musical Nuances Performing Arts» in August 2024. She is a doctoral candidate at the prestigious Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., for extremely selective DMA studies in Piano Performance. Ms. Gabrielyan’s unique expertise and accomplishments set her apart as a leading figure in the music world. Her academic career, marked by admissions to highly selective programs, top grades, and influential performances, speaks to her extraordinary talent and dedication.
